Sunset Floral Accent for Arch
Floral Arrangement using Florette for Archway
Time: 15 minutes and 30 seconds | Season: All Year Round
This month on the Academy, weâre diving into large-scale floral design with a bold and beautiful floral accent arrangement â perfect for archways, ceremony backdrops, or venue installations. With weddings and events in full swing during July and August, nowâs the perfect time to explore impactful design techniques for showstopping moments.
In this tutorial, we walk you through the mechanics and techniques behind building a structural floral accent, using a midi Florette (floral foam) and cable ties to securely anchor your design. Whether you’re working on a church arch, a venue doorway, or a statement corner piece, this lesson breaks down how to create strong foundations and artful floral placement.
Weâve chosen a sunrise-inspired palette of pinks, cerises, and oranges â a bold, trendy mix that brings warmth, joy, and vibrancy to any event. Youâll also learn how to adapt the design for different styles, colours, or even swap the mechanics for eco-friendly alternatives like moss roulades or grave spikes for a more sustainable approach.
The design uses a midi Florette attached to a floral archway using cable ties. If you would like the design to be more eco-friendly, you could use a moss roulade attached to the frame using re-usable cable ties or twine.
You will be able to find all the mechanics used and fresh flowers in today’s lesson on our wholesale webshop here. We also offer a 1-2-1 consultation service should you require more help with an upcoming event or wedding. This style of arrangement can be daunting and overwhelming; our tutors can talk you through the steps, and provide you with invaluable advice and shopping lists to achieve the end result.
