Bonfire Night Floral Design – A Sculptural Tribute with Celosia “Flames”
A Sculptural Tribute with Celosia “Flames”
Time: 22 minutes and 30 seconds Season: All Year Round (bar seasonal flowers that can be adapted to other flower varieties)
We’re marking the season with a bold, sculptural arrangement inspired by Bonfire Night. This interpretative design brings together flame-toned blooms, natural textures, and striking form to celebrate warmth, colour, and movement—key elements of this seasonal celebration.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a wreath base with a central vase construction, using salix (willow) to add texture and height, and celosia and red hot pokers as a focal feature to represent flickering flames. The result is a glowing composition in vibrant reds, oranges, and yellows—perfect as a centrepiece or statement display.
Whether you’re looking to stretch your creativity or explore more conceptual design work, this project offers a wonderful opportunity to practice storytelling through flowers.
