Time: 14 minutes, 44 seconds, Season: All Year round
Thank you so much for joining us today for another tutorial. For this video, I will be showing you how you can create a beautiful hand-tied bouquet using dried flowers.
In the UK and around the world, we are seeing the huge trend for dried flower bouquets and other designs. Creating sustainable, everlasting bouquets is more popular than ever and a great offering to have in your portfolio for prospective clients.
Nature is the best guide when selecting dried plant materials. Your customer’s brief will direct you, but using a good balance of colour, shape and texture will afford an aesthetically pleasing composition.
Top tips:
- Remove any foliage below the binding point to keep it neat and tidy, ensuring that it does not travel!
- Be mindful that dried flowers (specific varieties) can be very brittle and tricky to work with! It is important to inform your clients to position the arrangement in a low-footfall area to avoid the design being damaged!
If you would like to recreate the arrangement, you will need the following:
Quantities | Plant Material / Equipment |
---|---|
1 pair | Scissors |
1 roll | Twine |
1 bunch | Soft Ruscus Bleached |
1 bunch | Dried Lavender |
1 bunch | Dried Phalaris |
1 bunch | Dried Wheat |
1 bunch | Dried Lagers |
1 bunch | Dried Larkspur (blue/purple) |
1 bunch | Dried Broom |
1 hank | Raffia Natural |
