Novelty Handbag

Novelty Interpretative Floral Design

Time: 20 minutes and 32 seconds | Season: All Year Round

Approx wholesale cost: £15-30 depending on materials used

In this demonstration, we will be creating a novelty hand-bag.

Often Brides are looking for something quirky and different to the traditional designs that their friends or family may have employed at their weddings. Although not to everyone’s taste, and subject to fashion trends, novelty designs can offer a solution.

This design is intended to be a wedding table centre arrangement and could also be used for a dinner party or special  birthday party and would be perfect for a corporate, appropriate to a product launch or as an interpretative funeral tribute. With moderations to the design it could also be made for a bride or bridesmaid to carry and offers a modern twist on the traditional bridesmaids basket.

If you wish to recreate the design, you will need the following plant materials and equipment:

QuantityPlant Material / Equipment
1 blockDried Foam
1 block Wet Foam
2 Palm Leaves
3-5 stems Selection of Flowers (various colours)
1 pair Scissors
1 Bladed Knife (to cut foam)
1 pairGloves (to cut foam)
1 packPins (pearl headed or other)
1-2 Aspidistra Leaves

Thank you for watching. I hope this tutorial has given you the confidence to experiment with novelty designs and expand on your wedding repertoire, allowing you to offer quirky and unconventional creations for your discerning clients.
